New Trustee Appointments

We are seeking to appoint three new Trustees to our Board of Trustees to join our existing four members: Professor Mike Hough, Dr Hannah Quirk, Ian Brownhill and Umar Azmeh.

We anticipate that 2022 will be a transformative year for the Sentencing Academy as we have funding in place to significantly increase our activities around research, communications and policy work in the coming year. By joining the Board of Trustees, you will be able to directly influence our organisational priorities through your input into our expansion plans. The Board has an important role in advising the Directors on strategic planning so new Trustees would be joining at a key time in the organisation’s development.

The Board meets three to four times per year in London – but occasional remote attendance is possible. Although unremunerated, travel expenses may be claimed for attendance at meetings and events. The appointment will be for a period of three years.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with the following areas of expertise:
• Media and communications • Finance and accounting • Professional experience of working within the criminal justice system

To apply, please send your CV and a brief covering email supporting your application to info@sentencingacademy.org.uk or you can apply via the advertisement on the CharityJob website (https://www.charityjob.co.uk/volunteer-jobs/sentencing-academy/trustees/793741).

The closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 21 January 2022.

Informal interviews (likely to be conducted remotely) will be held with shortlisted applicants in February 2022.
For any enquiries about this role, please contact Jonathan Bild at j.bild@sentencingacademy.org.uk.
