Thalia joined the Sentencing Academy as Chief Executive in October 2026. She has previously held Chief Executive roles at Hope After Harm, Citizens Advice Bucks, Healthwatch Bucks and Riverside Counselling Service, and brings extensive experience of charity leadership, strategy and organisational transformation.

She began her career in the Civil Service, working at the Home Office, HM Prison Service and Foreign and Commonwealth Office, before moving into management consultancy and senior transformation roles.

Thalia has maintained an enduring interest in the criminal justice system throughout her career. Her work at previous charities, supporting people affected by crime and the justice system, has reinforced her interest in evidence-informed policy and practice and improving outcomes for victims, offenders and communities.
