Our Methodology
In preparing content for the Sentencing Hub, the Sentencing Academy commissions peer-reviews from leading scholars in the field. We do not simply re-publish or summarise previously published reviews. Our collaborating authors are asked to examine all peer-review research published in English over a specified period, usually the past 10 years. These reports are then reviewed by SA staff and external academics.
The contents of the Sentencing Hub are updated periodically to reflect the latest developments. Sentencing snapshots are updated bi-annually and Research & Policy Papers every three years. In determining the contents, the SA consults with practitioners, sentencers and other stakeholders to ensure that the Hub meets user needs and expectations. The SA welcomes feedback from users as well as suggestions for fresh content.
